September 07, 2022 - Nathan Huynh has been named the second director of the Nebraska Transportation Center (NTC). Huynh, who was selected from a nationwide search, will start at UNL on January 2, 2023.  Full Story

September 02, 2022 - President Biden on Sept. 2 announced Nebraska’s Heartland Robotics Cluster, which includes the College of Engineering, will receive $25 million in funding as a recipient of the American Rescue Plan Regional Challenge.  Full Story

September 02, 2022 - Construction of the privately funded, $115 million Kiewit Hall at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln reached a major milestone on Aug. 31 as a special beam-signing ceremony was held.  Full Story

August 28, 2022 - Santosh Pitla, associate professor of biological systems engineering, is leading a team of researchers from University of Nebraska institutions focusing on improving the cybersecurity of autonomous farm vehicles, such as tractors and robots.  Full Story

As small “slippery” particles or microorganisms such as Cryptosporidium travel through a pipe, they tend to concentrate in the middle. A Nebraska Engineering study looks to exploit this knowledge to determine better ways for energy and environmental sectors to achieve greater efficiency at mitigating contamination or in providing cheaper fuel.
August 22, 2022 - Jae Sung Park and Yusong Li are working on a three-year, $418,120 NSF grant to learn how small particles – some less than one-tenth the width of a human hair – better move through confined fluid flows in transport systems, such as pipes.  Full Story
