9/11 attacks inspired Wittich's choice of future career

Using oil from corn, soybeans to recycle asphalt could make for better, greener roads
July 30, 2021 - Civil and environmental engineering researchers are developing a recycled asphalt using corn and soybean oil. This recycled paving material, Hamzeh Haghshenas Fatmehsari said, would be greener, save money and create new markets for Nebraska crops.  Full Story

May 17, 2021 - Hamzeh Haghshenas is leading a research team that is evaluating the effect of soybean oil on the performance of asphalt pavements containing recycled materials.  Full Story

A crash test is conducted at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Midwest Roadside Safety Facility. Researchers at the facility will conduct and participate in testing across key surface transportation safety technology areas to support the Transportation Technology Center.

Nepal to Nebraska: Earthquake tragedy driving Shrestha to engineer safer future
